'Safe Cities Women Self Defense Toolkit 1.0: Self-reliance, empowerment, protection' is brought to you by the The Safe Cities L.A. committee of the United States National Committee Los Angeles Chapter for UN Women (www.unwomen-usnc.org/). The committee strives to adapt Los Angeles’ public spaces, transportation, education and employment systems, etc. to meet the environmental, physical, and emotional needs of women and girls.
There are 3 locations in the Greater LA area for the April 29 workshop: Police HQ at CSUN, Santa Monica, and Knowles Karate Academy. USNC for UN WOMEN'S mission with this effort is to provide a program that will empower women to feel safer, continue learning self-defense protection strategies, skills and techniques as an individual way to promote the UN Women's goals of reducing violence against women across the globe.
