We are proud to offer a FREE Gracie Street Defense workshop on Sunday Feb 12 (11am - 1pm) with Jason Sodenkamp. This is an introductory workshop to the Gracie Street Defense Program for adult beginners, where you will learn some core Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment. This will be a 1.5 hr class with some extra time allotted for a Q&A. We recommend wearing comfortable sportswear, no street clothes or jewelry.
The Gracie Street Defense Program comprises of one-hour lessons, each addressing one standing and one ground self-defense technique. Your can start the program at any time and participate in any class without previous experience and, since safety is our number 1 concern, there is no competitive sparring involved. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be promoted to Blue Belt and considered "Street Ready". You then qualify to continue your journey beyond Blue Belt. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu also consists of hundreds of advanced techniques organized into a clearly defined, systematic curriculum.
Please register below to reserve your spot. Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop!

Jason Sodenkamp has trained exclusively under Rorion, Ryron, and Rener Gracie (of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu fame) since 2003 and was awarded his Brown Belt in 2015. He had early success in tournaments during his first 3 years, but decided to turn his focus toward the "street" self-defense aspect of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. His instructors saw potential in him to teach, and by 2007, he was an assistant instructor at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA. Jason participated in the first of several subsequent Instructor Certification Programs offered at the Gracie Academy beginning in 2008. in December of 2011, he began a short internship, and then became the head instructor at the Certified Training Center in Hollywood in 2012. At that time, Jason also began teaching beginner and advanced classes at the newly opened Gracie Academy in Beverly Hills. He was then awarded his Instructor Bars, as a Purple Belt, by Ryron Gracie. In July of 2015, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu merged with the Beverly Hills location, where he continues to teach group and private classes, beginner to advanced classes.
Jason teaches hundreds of students every year and is passionate about his mission to make the world a safer place with these life-saving techniques and empowering individuals to take on a path of total wellness in their lives.
